Walk. Femes Valley & Ridge. 21st March 2010
This next episode of our walking in Lanzarote series started us off from the balcony overlooking Playa Blanca in Femes. We continued at low level towards Las Casitas before crossing over and scaling the ridge on the eastern side of the valley.
From there we could see almost all the way to Costa Teguise. It was also fantastic to see down towards the fish farm off the coast, and to see Femes from a different angle.
Apologies for the poor standard of photographs here – as they were taken on my mobile phone.
The map below gives a rough guide to the route – but do consult a proper walking guide if attempting it yourself. There is quite a hike from the valley up to the top of the ridge – but of course the views more than make up for it. Take plenty of water, and do wear sturdy walking shoes for this one. The entire walk took us about 2 hours with regular photo stops.
