The electoral census
If you have correctkly registered at your Ayumntamiento, then you should automatically receive a census form. However – this is Lanzarote after all… and we know Yaiza in particular isn’t the most “on the ball”. So you can get one by heading to your Ayuntamiento and asking for one. You can then ensure that you are eligible to vote. You must declare your desire to vote – as inclusion on the register does not automatically grant this in all circumstances.
Allow at least three months to be officially registered to vote… so plan ahead if elections are coming up, or you’ll miss out. Your voting card will be posted to you towards election time.
