John and his good lady, Marilyn, are lovely people - I bumped into them yesterday in town actually. Regarding doggies - we actually got ours here... so didn't ship them over. However a number of friends have brought their fluffy friends with them. The overhwleming response is that it is far cheaper to organise it yourself direct with the airline, rather than going through a specialist company. It is entirely your choice of course... and sometimes it's worth paying the extra pounds for peace of mind. However, do definitely book a visit to your local vet as soon as possible so that they can help raise all the necessary paperwork and ensure that the dogs' innoculations etc are fully up to date for you. Your small dogs will come out where you collect suitcases on the conveyor, but larger dogs have to be collected from another gate at the airport. However, your airline will help you through all of this step by step. Do ask your vet for something to help calm the doggies through the journey - but we haven't heard any recent horror stories about loved pets - and they seem to come out bright eyed and waggy tailed ready for their new life.
