There are many ways to save money in Lanzarote - and many of these are for residents only. By EU law, Spain cannot force you to register as a resident… however there are plenty of encouragements and incentives to do so. There are discounts available at most of the popular places to visit in Lanzarote - with some being completely free too!
Papagayo Beaches - Entrance is free with residencia, saving you €3 per car
Mirador del Rio - residents pay just €0.50, saving €4
Timanfaya - Only €1.50 for residents, compared to the standard charge of €8! Just a short way further along the road is the free visitors’ centre.
Jardin de Cactus - if plants are your thing, then a residencia will entitle you to free entry to this centre - saving you €5
Jameos del Agua - save yourself €7 when going to this must-visit place in Lanzarote.
Cuevas de Los Verdes - you can also save €7 here… and just pay €1
Castillo de San Jose - save €2 off the price at this museum

Many bars operate a loyalty scheme to their regular drinkers. If they know that you live here, and are likely to become a regular customer, you may be offered discounts - this does not automatically entitle you to it however - remember these guys are trying to make a living!
