Lanzarote Relocation February 2010
Hello everyone.
This morning we received emails and phone calls from a number of concerned and confused people when they received emails titled “Lanzarote Relocation February 2010″. These emails did not originate from this website, they came from Mike and Julie Cliffe-Jones, the authors of www.lanzaroteinformation.com who are also the owners of the Lanzarote Estate Agent, Estupendo.
A number of you were concerned because you thought we had gone into business with Estupendo, which goes against what our blog says on its home page – “We receive NO financial payments from Estate Agents, or other companies on this island for mentioning them or their services, for any articles supplied, or for any introductions made.” Some of the articles donated are from our clients from our other businesses… and some are not. No money exchanges hands in order to appear within this site.
“Lanzarote Information” is a general interest Lanzarote website of a commercial nature, and not the more niche “Lanzarote Relocation” information blog website that you are reading now.
The following is an excerpt from our own newsletter that went out at lunchtime today, which oddly enough was before we started receiving concerned messages from our readers.
Remember that Lanzarote Relocation continues to be free to use, and free of advertisers… ensuring that the information is unbiased and given only in good faith. We do not run the site as a business (it is, and always has been, a hobby for us)… and it is funded merely by a sprinkling of affiliate advertiser banners that you can see in the side bars on the website. We’re not trying to sell you anything… no holidays… no property… no timeshare… no wills… no tax shelters – we are who we are. Despite other companies claiming connection on their sites, in their newsletters, and even at sales meetings (yes, we were appalled too) – Lanzarote Relocation is Elle & Alan – nobody else. If you are unsure in any way about any claims you may be reading elsewhere – then do not hesitate to contact us, so that we can reassure you.
We would like to reassure all of our readers that our website ethos has not changed – and that all areas and content of this website will continue to be provided free of charge to all users, and without financial backing from businesses on the Island. We are also sure that Mike and Julie would not have intended to have been quite so misleading in their choice of newsletter title.
Elle xx

Naughty!
Humble apologies for that. When I first read this, I thought you’d made a mistake. But it turns out we did!
That email should not have carried the title “Lanzarote Relocation 2010″ it should have read “Lanzarote Information 2010″
It was a simple typo – probably caused by the fact that we often type the words Lanzarote Relocation as we have been providing a free relocation pack to clients for many years.
We’ll send an email out today to all those received the original, with an apology for any confusion caused.
To readers of this site – sorry! No intent, a genuine mistake.
Cheers Mike. As we said – we didn’t think it was intentional…

Not intentional, not good though. This sack cloth shirt is so uncomfortable!
