Correos – don't trust the post!
We have been getting more and more angry with Correos (the Spanish postal service) in Playa Blanca. We believe they are either throwing away mail or have a thief in their midst….. We have found out that some mail (several items) has gone missing – some of it relating to family matter of an extremely personal nature. This could have had very serious repercussions on a personal level had it not been for a chance phone call recently.
Here’s a list of the items we KNOW have gone missing (minimum)….
2 Xmas cards
1 birthday card
3 Letters
1 cheque
2 wedding invitations
That’s known items – so far – you can only imagine how many other birthday and Xmas cards might be included. Wonder why that might be! Anecdotally from others, it seems the only mail that gets through is bills marked with a company logo on the outside.
Are Correos just incompetent, or are their staff thieves? In our view it seems they are both!
Obviously we have lodged a complaint. Assuming any responses don’t get ‘lost’ in the post we will update this story as it unfolds….
