A happy ending…!
I have been itching to write this post!
As many people reading this will have heard, we got involved with helping to find missing person, Vincent – a young Frenchman who had been living on the streets of Arrecife since January.
He was happily reunited with his sister Fanny last Thursday.
Not wanting to ‘tempt fate’ we’ve held the story back until now. I can’t tell you how happy we are to report that Vincent and his sister arrived home in France yesterday.
I met Fanny from the airport when she arrived on Thursday, and as if fated, walking from the car to the hotel we she had booked before going to find Vincent she spotted him sat outside a cafe. I found it very emotional watching them reunited. Vincent had clearly lost weight but otherwise in good health and good spirits, and very, very keen to get home.
A big thank you from us to all the people who offered time, support, money, translation and good will to help find Vincent…
“I love it when a plan comes together”!
For me – it was a great day knowing that we had helped. But… As ‘Murphy’s Law’ predicts there’s always a downside. I got a bloody ticket for speeding from the Guardia on the way home…
C’est la vie…

Well done Alan. I bet both was sooooo relieved to get on that plane and home. Six months on the streets is a long time.
Great ending to a great effort.
