Hello Jeanne my lovely! I hope that you are well… and that the South coast is treating you well.
There is some considerable investment going into the harbour area, to convert it into a cruise ship stop-off. However, it is a long time coming… and the plans are yet to be agreed (there are over 20 revisions already!). As with most governmental and financial movements in Lanzarote… these things tend to take a decade – much like the golf courses that we’ve been hearing about for years now
It took them over 5 years just to repair Playa Flamingo after Hurricane Delta!!
The article talks about “Parque Mediterranean” in Playa Blanca. Hmmm… … … not heard a dickie dird about that since!
Once it is all agreed and work completed, then for sure the cruise ship passengers will be a lot happier stopping here than they currently are at being dropped in an industrial port!
Make sure you let me know when you’re next over hon… we MUST do lunch!
Elle xx
Somehow I had missed this interesting news item before but now 2 years later I wonder what Playa Blanca has done with it’s share of the money and what the bids were for. Please can anyone tell me so I know what to look for when I come on holiday again to help boost the tourism income. A bit flippant I know but hope the bid includes wall to wall sun when I am there. Just Luv Lanzarote and Playa Blanca. Regards Jeanne
